protest

Tuesday, July 31, saw people taking to the streets in cities spanning all of Iran, the latest episode in a series of protests that began in late December of last year. These protests are occurring in an atmosphere of near socio-economic collapse, as the Khomeiniist regime’s mismanagement, corruption, and diversion of Iran’s wealth and resources into foreign wars and terrorism have to led to hyperinflation, environmental disaster, and extreme poverty. The anger that these people, everyday factory workers, farmers, truck drivers and shopkeepers, feel towards the regime can be seen in the videos below:

The regime’s security forces began suppressing the demonstrations towards sunset, violently abusing, injuring and arresting many. As per their usual practice, the Internet was blocked just before the crackdowns started. Activists are making efforts to identify the names and faces of those culpable in harming the people.
