Failure of Iran air defense in fired shots at a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) hovering over Tehran no-fly zone

According to Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base, the anti-air canons were deployed at an unmanned aerial vehicle that was hovering in the no-fly zone of Tehran.

Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Lieutenant Commander General Alireza Elhami said to IRIB that a drone which was hovering over the no-fly zone was forced to leave the zone after several warning shots.According to Elhami,the anti-air canon were deployed at the UAV when it was appeared in the no-fly zone. However, the canon was ended when the quadcopter left the no-fly zone in order to provide the security of people.

The programming and financial chief executive of the IRIB department of development and technology, Mohammad Mehdi Rahmati said the UAV which was shot down hovering Enghelab Square today, didn’t belong to IRIB.

While, earlier on Monday, Tehran’s deputy governor general for security affairs said about the sound of the anti-air fire canon shot in the center of Tehran “the security officers fired shots at the IRIB’s drone.

Rahmati reacted to this statement that the IRIB air logistic haven’t received any fly request, or any plan, and haven’t had any drone in that fly zone.

He also said, all the people who uses the light quadcopters are aware about the principal limitations and Tehran prohibited airspace, and Friday prayers don’t usually film by using quadcopter, except some special occasions, such as Qods day, the anniversary of Islamic revolution (22nd of Bahman), or a Friday prayer which is held with the present of Ayatollah Khamenehei.
